Main One’s IP-NGN Product Launched!
Main One has now deployed a state of the art IP-NGN platform using the latest and most innovative solutions from Cisco as our technology partner in deploying the platform (please click here to read our March 2011 press release on the collaboration with Cisco: http://bit.ly/pJNyCY), The launch of this platform heralds the beginning of Main One’s evolution from a wholesale bandwidth provider to a robust communications solutions company. As an initial product offering, Main One provides two solutions: Global IP Transit targeted at ISPs and telco operators and Global Internet Access for Enterprise customers. Both products provide a reliable and efficient connection to the Internet. These products are competitively priced to promote easy adoption by the market. The platform ensures that Main One is well positioned to deliver even more innovative communication solutions, a series of which will continue to be rolled out through the balance of the year.

Main One Cable unveils Partner Advantage Program
Main One Cable Company, West Africa’s premier submarine network cable and provider of broadband Internet services to large telecommunication companies and service providers launched a new customer incentive program this week called the Partner Advantage program. The Partner Advantage program will enable Main One to create incentives for their existing and new customers to increase their broadband capacity subscriptions and provide benefits and additive discounts for incremental subscriptions. The program, which was unveiled in Lagos at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, in Victoria Island on the 10th of May, 2011 aims to cultivate closer relationships with existing Main One partners as well as new service providers seeking to connect to the Main One network by collaborating together on business solutions for the customers of the partners.
Commenting on the new program, Main One’s Chief Executive Officer, Funke Opeke, said: “In our continuous effort to lead the availability of uninterrupted high quality broadband capacity, we are pleased to introduce a new partner incentive platform which will provide our resellers in Nigeria with an opportunity to sell high quality broadband solutions which guarantees an increase in business opportunities for both Main One and its partners. The new program will give our partners the flexibility to target and simplify access to the resources required for new products and services.”
Demand for highly secure, high bandwidth network capacity from different categories of customers is driving Main One to deploy additional service platforms and partner incentive programs to encourage its partners to help push for better Internet penetration in Nigeria, which today stands at roughly 13%.
It will be recalled that Main One recently partnered with Cisco to develop a high quality IP based network and application service offering. The new offering will enable Main One customers to benefit from various value-added services enabled by IP technology such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Voice over IP (VOIP), IPTV and advanced collaboration technologies.
